We’re looking for the right person to join our team as our first Business Development hire! This key person will help us build out this new role from the ground up. The role is perfect for someone who is self-motivated, strategic, and isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty to do some good old-fashioned schlepping.

You’ll use your strong negotiation skills, confidence (on the phone and in person), and ability to stay organized to make sure that BackerKit forms the partnerships that we need to maintain and advance our position as the cornerstone for crowdfunding.

You have a thirst to work on a small team and recognize that this is an opportunity to make a big impact at a growing YC startup.

Ideally, you have at least two years of relevant Sales and Biz Dev experience.

Understand the full scope of BackerKit’s mission and be able to transform those goals into relationships and deal terms.

Develop a strong understanding of BackerKit’s various solutions and resources in order to deliver the right solution to partners.

Identify and develop new referral sources and strengthen existing strategic partnerships.

Develop strong relationships within the industry to maintain a comprehensive pipeline of new business opportunities in the crowdfunding, fulfillment, and manufacturing space.

Work with the team to develop and communicate the win strategy of new partnerships, based on a deep understanding of customer goals and BackerKit’s strategic roadmap.

Help create high quality pitch decks, client reports and white papers.

Attend industry events and front networking conversations.

You have two years of experience in a Business Development.

You have an MBA, undergraduate business degree, or can dazzle us with the deals that you’ve closed.

You possess amazing time management skills and can prioritize like a triage doctor.

You are a fantastic communicator. You have positive and energetic phone skills, listen like a detective, and write compelling emails.

You’re relentless and are able to persevere through long and potentially complex deal cycles.
