MANAGER, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, MARKET RESEARCH

Position Summary 

The successful incumbent will be responsible for developing new clients for Observer. On a daily basis, the focus will be on communicating the group’s products and services to potential clients including but not limited to: consulting firms, ad agencies, market research, data collection, and sampling companies. They will also be responsible for providing excellent customer service for new clients and support new client inquiries.

The Director must be able to communicate the details of a study the: methodology, incidence levels, questionnaire structure and logic schemes, quota architecture and definitions, technical elements and requirements, project timeline and deadlines, budget, cost of goods sold, and gross margin of each project. Thus, a strong background and experience in supplier-side market research is a must. The ideal candidate is one who has proven experience in leveraging their market research expertise in a sales capacity. This is a salaried position, but is an excellent opportunity well-suited for an individual who is motivated by a competitive commission plan (in addition to salary).

Ideal Candidate has the following skills and experience:
Supplier side market research experience is a requirement

Direct client management experience is a requirement ; must be comfortable and experienced in managing client relationships and conducting presentations

A team player – Ipsos Observer works as a unit, where each member is a dedicated and integral member of the success of every project

Not just a “salesperson”, but a true sales strategist – Must be a natural and experienced sales person who lives to service the client. Utilizes previous market research and sales experience to come up with aggressive sales strategies and goals. Able to match and propose solutions and products to potential clients with custom needs. Comfortable and experienced in cold-calling and opening new doors to uncover potential clients

Strong communication skills : Must interface well with clients, team members, and internal staff daily. Must be an effective communicator – able to explicitly convey clear and concise directions and information to clients, interoffice departments, and immediate team members
